Initially she became involved in sustainability in healthcare with the group 'Green at Barts Health' and worked on numerous SusQI projects from re-usable PPE to waste. As she sees it, this is the most important challenge facing our generation of doctors is the climate crisis and collective action is the way to tackle it.

She is passionate that we need to make urgent, significant changes now to have a chance of avoiding irreversible damage and believes that the way forward is through connecting with each other to share learning and inspire action.

She feels strongly that we need to reduce the environmental impact of healthcare and that by bringing people together from across the healthcare spectrum we can make more effective change. Katie is an Internal Medicine Trainee working in London. She is passionate about waste reduction in healthcare, and has worked on QIPs in waste disposal and sustainable medicines choices in her hospitals. She believes that we all have to lead the way in advocating for greener change, and education and shared knowledge and resources are part of the way to do this!
